I’ve been alignment challenged since I started playing golf, and believe me I’ve tried everything. But I never stopped searching, and then I found this video by Chris Ryan which gave me what I needed, an easy and repeatable way to get aligned.
It is a three step process, and the first two are not unfamiliar. However you must stay for the third step, which I’ve never seen before and is the clincher, so make sure you watch the third step, and put it into practice.
I did yesterday and it way exceeded my expectations, while the day before I was often way off target. So watch the video, then watch the pros, and you may see something you hadn’t noticed before.
I disagree with the idea of selecting an intermediate target a few inches/feet from the ball, because the slightest difference close to the ball results in a very large difference where the ball lands.
I far prefer to select a target out in the distance, such as a house window or a tree or a chimney, because a small difference in alignment results in a small difference where the ball lands.
